Overview
 

We are seeking an experienced Eligibility Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance eligibility verification and authorization processes, specifically within the state of Florida. Familiarity with Miami’s healthcare landscape and patient populations is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Verify patient eligibility, benefits, and coverage for wound care treatments with various insurance providers.
  • Communicate effectively with insurance companies, patients, and clinical staff to resolve coverage issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of insurance verifications, denials, and approvals in compliance with departmental protocols.
  • Stay up-to-date with insurance policies, regulations, and procedures, particularly those specific to Florida and Miami.
  • Provide support to patients and families regarding coverage questions and financial options.
  • Collaborate with billing and revenue cycle teams to prevent delays in claims submission or payment processing.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in insurance eligibility verification, preferably in dermatology care or related healthcare fields.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and insurance verification tools.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish to serve Miami’s diverse patient population.
  • Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care plans in Florida.
  • Previous experience in wound care or similar healthcare departments.

Job Types: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
